Pioneer Yachts is a German yard established on the former Volkswerft site in Stralsund by engineer Mike Frank, whose background is in the solar-energy business. Its first model is the PY60, a 60-foot solar-electric cruising catamaran combining a rooftop photovoltaic array and electric propulsion with a range extender, drawn by the Italian studios Cossutti & Ganz (naval architecture and exterior) and Micheletti + Partners (interiors). The first hull, named Pioneer One, entered the water in 2026 ahead of a public debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival.
